In Tarot, the Pentacle suit symbolizes anything to do with the material world; those things we need in our lives to not only survive, but thrive—finances / money, a roof over our head, food on our table, a job, business, property, relationship, even health—any material / physical aspect required to live on this earth as a Spiritual being having a Human experience.
In the Eight of Pentacles (or coins or discs) from the Morgan Greer Tarot deck, we see a strong and active masculine figure working at his chosen trade. He’s confident, skilled, consistent, and therefore is surrounded by the Pentacles (material resources) he has crafted. He is content and happy. His material manifestations are abundant, and he’s self-assured in his talent. Also, the number eight, in its Arabic form, suggests a constant flow of energy—an infinite beginning-to-end-to-beginning cycle.
When the Eight of Pentacles comes up in a reading it could be verification of your ability to manifest a material aspect of life. If it appears in reverse, it might signify you have abundant ability and talent, but it’s time to get serious! As I approached my final day in a long engineering-oriented career, this card to popped up in very unexpected places, repeatedly. I see this as a verifying message from Spirit that I’m moving into the craft I’m meant to preform at this time, and that I have the (and continue to hone) the required talent. What does this card signify for you?
